BURGH LE MARSH WAR MEMORIAL

The memorial is located at the church of St Peter and St Paul in the High Street, Burgh le Marsh. The memorial takes the form of a cross with Jesus being crucified, on a tapering shaft mounted on a plinth with a two stepped base. There are 17 names for World War 1 and 3 for World War 2. In October 2011 the memorial was rededicated and a further 15 names added.

EVISON	George Henry	L/Corporal R/21035. 8th Battalion, Kings Royal Rifle Corps. Killed in action 24th March 1917, aged 26 years. Husband of Annie Evison of 102 East Laith Gate, Doncaster, Yorks. STEPHENSON	Frank Maxwell	Flying Officer (Pilot) 40956. 94 Squadron, Royal Air Force. Died 14th December 1940, aged 26 years. Son of Frank Latham and Edith Elizabeth Stephenson of Skegness, Lincs. Commemorated MAALA CEMETERY. H.28.
